Highlights:
Hanoi can be easily rated as one of the most interesting capital cities of Asia. With its perfect blend of colonial and Buddhist architecture, bustling markets, friendly people, quaint shopping places…and some of the most delectable cuisines anywhere…it is a tourist”s delight! The Vietnamese term it as the eighth wonder of the world. Indeed, the stunning Halong Bay with its clear waters, towering cliffs with hidden grottoes is no less than wondrous. Also visit the 11th century Temple of Literature and Quan Thanh Temple dedicated to Saint Tran Vu. After a short stay at the historic seaport town of Hoi An proceed to Hue. We will take a boat ride on the Perfume River to visit the Imperial Tombs of Tu Duc; these are some of the best examples of the classical style of architecture in Vietnam. The Cu Chi tunnels are a popular site due to its role in the Vietnam War. Wind up the tour with a trip to Angkor Wat and Phnom Penh.

 

ITINERARY:

 

Wednesday
Day 01:  Hanoi  -  Arrival      (D)

Meet on arrival at Hanoi/Noi Bai International airport, transfer to Sunway Hotel or similar for check in. 14:00 Meeting at lobby of the hotel.p.m.  Cyclo tour (2 hours), visit to the Old quarter of Hanoi and Ngoc Son Temple. Dinner at local restaurant. Evening: Drop off at Thang Long theatre for water puppet show, the unique Vietnamese traditional art. This art originates from rural festivals in Vietnam. The artists-men and women-stand waist-deep in the water to manipulate the puppets, making them move about, talk and laugh and even dance on the surface of the water. End of the show and transfer to hotel. Accommodation at the Sunway Hotel or similar.

 

Thursday 
Day 02:  Hanoi - Halong      (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel.
Option 1:  For departure from Nov 01,07-Mar 31,08: Morning visit to the Ho Chi Minh”s Mausoleum (closed on Monday, Friday and the entire months of October and November), his former residence and One Pillar Pagoda.  Also visit the Temple of Literature built in the 11th century as Vietnam”s first University, Quan Thanh Temple and Fine Art Museum. Lunch at local restaurant. Drive to Hai Phong, around 100 km east of Hanoi, to visit the Garden theatre, Du Hang Pagoda and Kenh Temple before proceeding to Halong Bay. Dinner and accommodation at Halong Pearl Hotel or similar.

Option 2:  For departure from Apr 01-Oct 31,08: Morning visit to the Ho Chi Minh”s Mausoleum (closed on Monday, Friday and the entire months of October and November), his former residence and One Pillar Pagoda. 09.30  Drive to Halong, 180 km east of Hanoi. In Halong and board Huong Hai junk, check-in registration. Discover Halong Bay, listed as a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty. ‘Dragon descending to the sea‘ as it is known in Vietnamese, picturesque Halong Bay has more than 3,000 limestone islets rising from the clear emerald water, many of them containing beautiful grottoes such as Thien Cung and Dau Go. Seafood lunch on board. A fantastic cruise in Ha Long bay, visit Dinh Huong island, Ga Choi island, Dog island, Sail island, visit Sung Sot  cave and a swim at Titov beach.  Enjoy dinner on board while watching sunset. Fishing, drinking Vietnamese wine, and spending a night on board.

 

Friday   
Day 03:  Halong Bay - Hanoi - Danang - Hoi An   (B/L/D)

Option 1: For departure from Nov 01,07-Mar 31,08: Breakfast at hotel. Boat trip on Halong Bay, is a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty.  ‘Dragon descending to the sea‘ as it is known in Vietnamese, picturesque Halong Bay has more than 3,000 limestone islets rising from the clear emerald water, many of them containing beautiful grottoes such as Thien Cung and Dau Go. Seafood lunch on board. Drop off in Halong town.  Proceed to Hanoi”s International Airport for the flight to Danang. Arrive in Danang, Proceed to Hoi An.  Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and Accommodation at Hoi An Hotel or similar.

Option 2 :  For departure from Apr 01-Oct 31,08: Breakfast on the Junk. A morning cruise to visit Man”s head island, Tortoise island, visit Luon cave by small bamboo boat, Bai Tu Long bay, Toad island, Bai tho  mountain. Return to Halong city  and have lunch on board. Arrive Halong wharf then transfer back to Hanoi. Transfer to the Hanoi airport . Depart Hanoi by VN 317 for Danang. Arrive in Danang, Proceed to Hoi An. Transfer to hotel for check-in. Dinner and accommodation at Hoi An Hotel or similar

 

Saturday 
Day 04:  Hoi An -  Danang - Hoi An   (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. 08:00 Proceed to Danang, transfer to visit Cham Museum; Marble Mountain and China Beach. Back to Hoi An. Lunch at White Lanterns restaurant. Discover the historic town which used to be a prosperous seaport city during the 16th to 18th centuries.  Its sizeable community of foreign merchants resulted in a unique architectural style with Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese influences. Visit the Phuc Kien hall, Japanese covered bridge, Tan Ky old house and the workshop of traditional occupation of Hoi An ancient town. Dinner at Riverside Garden restaurant. Accommodation at the Hoi An Hotel or similar.

 

Sunday
Day 05:        Hoi An - Danang - Hue     (B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel. 07:30 Drive to Hue across the Hai Van Pass (Pass of the Ocean Clouds), passing through many pretty red-tiled villages with fruit orchards, enjoying spectacular views of sky and sea. Arrival on Hue, the royal city of Vietnam”s last ruling dynasty and transfer to the Saigon Morin Hotel or similar, then visit Tu Duc tomb, Lunch at Club Garden restaurant. p.m.  Boat trip on the Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda. Visit Imperial Citadel and Dong Ba  market. Dinner and accommodation at the Saigon Morin Hotel or similar.

 

Monday 
Day 06:  Hue - Ho Chi Minh City    (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. 7:00  Transfer from Phubai airport. 08:40  Depart Hue by VN251 for Ho Chi Minh City. 10:00    Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City and transfer to the Equatorial Hotel or similar. Lunch at Vietnam House restaurant. p.m. City tour: visit China town, Thien Hau Pagoda, War Remains Museum and former Presidential Palace. Make photo stops at the famous tourist sites such as Notre Dame Church, and Central Post Office. Dinner at local restaurant. Accommodation at the Equatorial Hotel or similar.

 

Tuesday 
Day 07:  Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi - Tay Ninh  (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. a.m. Excursion to Tay Ninh church, center of the Cao-Daism religion which combines Buddhism, Christianity, Taoism and Confucianism. Lunch en route. p.m. Visit Cu Chi Tunnels, an amazing complex of the underground tunnels used during the Vietnam war. Drive back to Ho Chi Minh City. Dinner and overnight at the Equatorial Hotel or similar.


Wednesday 
Day 08:  Ho Chi Minh City -  Siem Reap     (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. Time at leisure for own activities before transfer to the airport. 11.40 Depart Ho Chi Minh City by VN 827 for Siem Reap. 12.40  Arrive Siem Reap and transfer to the hotel for check-in. Lunch at local restaurant. p.m.  Visit of Angkor Wat and sunset at the temple. Dinner at hotel. Accommodation at Borei Angkor hotel or similar.

 

Thursday
Day 09:   Siem Reap     (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. a.m.  Visit of Banteay Srey and Bantey Samre temples. Lunch at local restaurant. p.m. Start the visit of South Gate of Angkor Thom, the Bayon and Baksei Chamkrong, the Elephant terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Friday
Day 10:  Siem Reap - Phnom Penh    (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. a.m. Visit Floating village and take a boat trip on the Tonle Sap. Lunch at hotel. p.m.  Visit of Ta Prohm, Phrah Khan and Neak Pean temple. Transfer to Siem Reap airport for flight to Phnom Penh. Depart Siem Reap by flight to Phnom Penh. Arrive Phnom Penh and transfer to hotel for check-in. Dinner and accommodation at Juliana hotel or similar.

 

Saturday
Day 11  Phnom Penh - Departure    (B/L)

Breakfast at hotel. a.m.  Phnom Penh City tour : Visit National Museum, Silver Pagoda, Royal. Palace and Wat Phnom. Lunch at hotel. Transfer to Phnom Penh airport for departure flight to the another destination.

 

Note: The boat trip on the Ton Le Sap lake is not recommend during the dry season from February to July due to the low level of the water and the bad smell surrounding the area. In this sense we will propose a tour to visit Silk Farm of Pouk instead.
